Peachtree Hills Neighborhood History & Amenities

In 1907, the trolley along Peachtree Road was extended to the center of Buckhead. This allowed residents of the area to access the jobs and schools of downtown Atlanta from Buckhead via widely affordable public transportation. Shortly after this extension of the trolley line, 61 acres of farmland along Peachtree Road by Peachtree Creek was subdivided into residential lots and the first homes of Peachtree Hills were built. The Peachtree Hills neighborhood was officially established in 1912.

Just as it did back then, Peachtree Hills offers easy access to Buckhead Village, Downtown and Midtown Atlanta via Peachtree Road. Peachtree Hills residents can stroll to shops, a grocery store and restaurants all within the Peachtree Hills neighborhood. Peachtree Battle Shopping Center, an attraction for residents from all areas of Buckhead and beyond, is conveniently located adjacent to the historic entrance of Peachtree Hills along Peachtree Road.

Residents can also enjoy Peachtree Hills Park within the neighborhood, includes tennis courts, a playground, softball field, community garden and picnic areas. Traveling just a short distance from Peachtree Hills, residents can access the Atlanta Beltline Northside Trail and the Bobby Jones Golf Course. Drive up Peachtree Road a short distance and access Buckhead Village with the Shops of Buckhead Atlanta.

Peachtree Hills is also conveniently located near public transportation at the Lindbergh Center MARTA Station, which provides access to numerous areas of Atlanta including Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
